My greatest anxiety about choosing a consultant for our Strategic Planning process was whether or not the consultant would be a good fit with our trustees. From the time Andy began his initial session, I knew that I didn’t have to worry at all about this. Andy’s style is engaging and intelligent. Throughout the entire process, he did an amazing job of getting people from all of our different constituencies talking and thinking deeply about so many issues around the question of who we are as a school and what we would like to be.
As the head of school, I appreciated the working relationship I had with Andy. He helped me to strategize before each of our strategic planning sessions, and he proved to be a very effective sounding board for me.
Everyone I talked with, during and after the strategic planning process, commented on how Andy did such a great job of making people feel that their opinions were appreciated and valued. It was from this foundation of trust and inclusivity that we were able to move forward with direction and purpose, even when there was a difference of opinion on particular issues.
